QuBe-Regional

A regionalisation of the BIBB-IAB qualification and occupational field projections took place for the first time in 2015 based on the data from the third wave of the QuBe project. It is therefore now also possible to examine regional differences in the projected results of demand and supply of skilled labour.

The Federal Republic of Germany was divided into six regions for this purpose, for which labour demand is calculated according to 25 sectors, 20 extended main occupational fields (an approximation of the 54 BIBB occupational fields, compatible with the 12 BIBB main occupational fields) and 5 qualification levels. The supply of labour is set against demand, differentiated according to 20 extended main occupational fields and 5 qualification levels and taking into account vocational mobility specific to the region (vocational flexibility and occupation related commuting flows).
