Cooperation agreement with Vietnam prolonged until 2023

02.12.2020

The trilateral agreement between BIBB, National Institute for Vocational Education and Training (NIVT) and Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) has been prolonged for three years until 2023. The cooperation focuses on the implementation of a sustainable monitoring system in VET in Vietnam.

BIBB has been advising the Vietnamese partner institution National Institute for Vocational Education and Training (NIVT) and the Vietnamese Ministry of Labour (General Department for Vocational Training of the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs = MoLISA) since 2010. Since 2012, the cooperation is based on a trilateral cooperation agreement between NIVT, BIBB and Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ).

A key aspect of the cooperation is the implementation of a sustainable monitoring system in VET in the form of an annually Vietnamese VET Report.

The aim is to improve evidence-based policy decisions through improved data collection, analysis and dissemination. Since 2010, seven Vietnamese VET reports have been published. The VET Report Viet Nam 2018 was published in October 2020.

With the continuation of the cooperation until 2023, the evidence-based policy advice will be maintained. In addition, the cooperation between NIVT and BIBB will be extended, within the framework of the BILT project (Bridging Innovation and Learning in TVET). The BILT project is carried out by the International Centre for Technical and Vocational Education and Training of UNESCO (UNESCO-UNEVOC) with support of BIBB.

The focus of BILT is peer learning and the exchange of experiences in the fields of new qualifications and competencies, digitization, sustainability, entrepreneurship and migration.
