Impulses from BIBB's support of young academic talent
Thinking Space 6
We wish to provide all interested parties with an opportunity to gain the widest possible insight into these work-related thematic areas. For this reason, the main focus of our Thinking Spaces is on up-and-coming academic talent and on the doctorates and research projects they are pursuing.
We have collated these topics under the following headings.
a) Current challenges in the world of work (Thinking Space I)
b) Digitalisation in the context of training and employment (Thinking Space II)
We wish to provide all interested parties with an opportunity to gain the widest possible insight into these work-related thematic areas. For this reason, the main focus of our Thinking Spaces is on up-and-coming academic talent and on the doctorates and research projects they are pursuing. In each case, five young colleagues will showcase their research issues, methodologies, problem-solving approaches or initial results in bite-sized chunks of four minutes. The main endeavour will be to abridge the material presented so as to be able to concentrate on what is essential.
Experts from the fields of academic research, policymaking and practice will address the core issues and problems arising from the presentations and will network with the junior colleagues to create a thread for subsequent discussion.

“Research provides impetus and guidance for educational policy decisions and for company developments. Ideally, the acquisition of findings and transfer take place in conjunction with the social partners and policy makers. For this reason, it is important for researchers to possess both an academic understanding and an awareness of the occupational/operational realities of workers.”
