BIBB gains second co-operation partner

06.05.2015

A trilateral co-operation agreement constitutes the future basis for the BIBB's advisory service activities in Thailand. The BIBB now co-operates with two main stakeholders of vocational education and training in Thailand, the Office of the Vocational Education Commission (OVEC) and the Thailand Professional Qualification Institute (TPQI). The thus resulting synergies will help to render the execution of future co-operation projects even more effective.

The BIBB has already been active in the field of vocational education and training in Thailand since 2003. A co-operation agreement with the Office of the Vocational Education Commission (OVEC) at the Thai Ministry of Education has been in place since that time. The main areas of activity governed by this agreement so far were the qualification of vocational education and training personnel and the development of training regulations.

Since this year, the BIBB has been co-operating with a second main stakeholder of vocational education and training in Thailand, the Thailand Professional Qualification Institute (TPQI). The TPQI is responsible for the development of occupational standards.

A trilateral co-operation agreement in the field of vocational education and training has been in place between the BIBB, the OVEC and the TPQI since August 2014. This is the first time the BIBB has initiated and formalised a co-operation agreement with two main stakeholders of vocational education and training in one country. The thus resulting synergies will help to render the execution of future co-operation projects even more effective.

The BIBB, OVEC and TPQI are currently collaborating on the development of a training regulation for the occupation of mechatronics fitter. They are planning the joint development of additional training regulations in the future. Moreover, joint research activities and co-operation in the field of "Standards for in-company training personnel" are planned.

On behalf of the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), the BIBB co-operates with the German Society for International Co-operation (GIZ) in the context of the Mekong project. The BIBB contributes to this project by its co-operation with the partner institutes OVEC and TPQI.

The German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) has commissioned the GIZ with the execution of the project "Promotion of in-company vocational training and continuing education in the Mekong region" (Mekong project). The project objectives include the development of a regional minimum standard for the occupational profile of an in-company training supervisor.
