28.09.2023

On November 30th/December 1st 2023, the Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training organizes an international conference in Bonn that brings together researchers from different disciplines to highlight and discuss the active contribution of VET and skilled workers to technological and ecological innovation.

The Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training (BIBB) is organizing a conference that brings together research expertise on the active contribution that vocational education and qualified workers can make to technological and ecological innovation.

The conference aims to bring together researchers from various disciplines such as labor market economics, sociology of companies and organizations, business and personnel management, and vocational education research in an international context.

During the conference, two keynote speeches will be presented, research results will be presented and discussed in working groups. The results will be bundled in a concluding discussion as part of a panel.

The conference will feature two keynote speeches, one by Prof. Dr. Friedrich Hubert Esser, the President of the Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training (BIBB), and another one by Dr. Kirak Ryu, Head of the "Skills Development and Qualifications Research" department of the Korean Vocational Education Institute (KRIVET). The keynotes will serve as an introduction to the conference's theme.

Within the working groups, experts will present their various studies and then lead a discussion on future research questions and potential projects. The practical, political, and academic significance of the research findings will be highlighted, and the interdisciplinary approach will enable encounters that would not otherwise take place.

The concluding discussion will broaden the perspective by integrating experts from various national vocational education research institutions and international organizations.
