wbmonitor – the continuing education and training landscape from the provider perspective
wbmonitor is a cooperation project from the Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training (BIBB) and the German Institute for Adult Education [Deutsches Institut für Erwachsenenbildung (DIE)] – Leibniz Centre for Lifelong Learning, and is regarded as a coordination platform for the exchange of information for and about the heterogeneous continuing education and training landscape. wbmonitor is the largest annual survey of continuing education and training providers in Germany.
wbmonitor seeks to contribute to a greater overview of the continuing education and training landscape and to track changes taking place. wbmonitor is non-commercial and independent, and regularly provides structural data as well as information from this perspective regarding the prevailing mood in the general and the continuing vocational education and training fields of work and uses its surveys to close the gaps identified in the official statistics. Information about continuing education and training from other surveys is supplemented by an inter-agency view of providers. wbmonitor utilizes assessments from practitioners relating to current issues and problems in continuing education and training for policy-making, academia and for the sector itself.
The results are published and influence the Federal Government's reporting on education and training.
