New momentum for co-operation with France
On 21 January 2015, Director Alberto Lopez and Matteo Sgarzi, Head of International Relations, both from the Centre d'Études et de Recherches sur les Qualifications (Céreq), visited the BIBB. The two partner institutes plan to intensify their co-operation activities.
During the one-day event, the guests exchanged views with Prof. Reinhold Weiß, Deputy President and Head of Research at the BIBB, and with BIBB employees regarding the development of vocational education and training in France and Germany and about joint research projects. The partners have the intention of intensifying the joint research activities of both institutes in particular in the topics of advance vocational education and training, transition from vocational education and training to the labour market, in-company vocational and advanced training and long-term studies regarding the career of vocational education and training graduates.
The BIBB and Céreq have been maintaining a co-operation agreement since 2006. Since that time, the two institutes have regularly worked together, for example, on the analysis of the data from the European Continuing Vocational Training Survey (CVTS). Also, Ms Annie Bouder, the former Head of International Affairs at the Céreq, has been a long-term member in the BIBB's Research Council.
