The BIBB at Worlddidac Asia 2017

As part of the long-standing cooperation with Thailand and the Didacta Association, the BIBB jointly hosted the event “Industry 4.0 and the impact of VET” together with the Didacta Association and the two Thai Partner institutions (Office of Vocational Education Commission (OVEC) and Thailand Professional Qualification Institute (TPQI)) at Worlddidac Asia in October 2017.

Approximately 60 representatives from TPQI companies as well as school management from the OVEC took part in the event. The keynote addresses by the BIBB “German perspective” and the OVEC “Thai perspective” were followed by presentations on the topic of “Industry 4.0” by the companies Lucas-Nülle, Festo and WUERKO.

The lively podium discussion mainly focused on the active integration of business within the planning, implementation and evaluation of initial and continuing vocational education and training in Thailand. OVEC and TPQI representatives pointed out that the quality of initial and continuing vocational education and training at approximately 800 vocational schools was very slowly resulting in a change to the image of vocational education and training within society. Representatives of Festo, Lucas-Nülle, LD Didactic, WUERKO, OVEC and TPQI took part in the podium discussion.

The BIBB has been cooperating with Thailand in the area of vocational education and training since 2003. Professional exchange currently features the themes of standards development, qualification of vocational education and training staff, and Industry 4.0.
