Final conference and last project meeting of the Erasmus+ project "New Models in Workbased Learning"
On 21 and 22 March 2018, the final conference and the last project meeting of the project "New Models in Workbased Learning" funded under Erasmus+ Key Action 3 (Supporting Political Reforms) took place in Ljubljana/Slovenia. The project was coordinated by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia (CCIS).
Around 100 representatives of schools, lobby groups and ministries participated in the final conference. It was opened by the Director General of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia, Sonja Šmuc. Andreja Sever (CCIS) presented the project, followed by four keynotes.
Darko Mali (Slovenian Institute for Vocational Education and Training / CPI) and Ana Žemva (CCIS) presented the Slovenian pilot projects on "apprenticeship" and initial evaluation results, while Inta Baranovska (National Centre for Education, Latvia / VISC) and Ruta Pornice (Employers’ Confederation of Latvia / LDDK) presented recent activities in Latvia's WBL. Finally, Dr. Marthe Geiben (Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training / BIBB) presented the cost-benefit study of vocational education and selected results.
In the afternoon, the participants split into three workshops:
- Individualization and work-based learning, led by Liisa Sarajosa, Ville Rajala and Johanna Hankimaa-Khezami from the vocational school WinNova, Finland
- Cooperation and support among the learning venues in WBL, led by Darko Mali (CPI) and Dr. Marthe Geiben (BIBB)
- Future of WBL / apprenticeship, led by Andreja Sever (CCIS)
