Cooperation with French partner institution
The Centre d'Études et de Recherches sur les Qualifications (Céreq) and the BIBB have been working together on the basis of a co-operation agreement already since 1990. The co-operation activities focus on mutual support in the field of vocational education and training research.
The Centre d'Études et de Recherches sur les Qualifications (Céreq) in France is a public institution that is subordinate to the Education Ministry, the Ministry of Higher Education and Research and the Ministry of Labour, Employment, Vocational Training and Social Dialogue. The Céreq is responsible for research and statistical surveys in the field of vocational education and training and the labour market. The key area of activity is advanced training, especially regarding the topic of access opportunities, the advanced training market and advanced training in companies.
The Céreq and the BIBB signed a first co-operation agreement as early as in September 1990 and renewed it in March 2016. The two institutions agreed to co-operate on matters pertaining to research and development in the field of vocational education and training. The joint objective is to promote vocational education and training research by way of mutual support, co-operation projects and the exchange of information.
Specifically, the two institutions agreed
- to inform each other regarding their respective research programmes and research results;
- to collaborate in research and development projects;
- to send to each other the respective institution's own periodical publications;
- to aspire to an exchange of researchers between the two institutes.
The Céreq was the BIBB's syndicate partner in the European Continuing Vocational Training Survey (CVTS), which looked into the advanced training practice in companies. In this context, the BIBB supervised the execution of the research project Evaluation and Interpretation of the third European Continuing Vocational Training Survey (CVTS3) between 2007 and 2009.
