Cooperation with the Chilean partner institution MINEDUC

The Ministry of Education (Ministerio de Educación Nacional - MINEDUC) is responsible for VET in Chile. MINEDUC and BIBB have been working together since 2011 on the basis of a cooperation agreement.

Currently there are no bilateral cooperation activities ongoing

The aim of the cooperation between MINEDUC and BIBB is to support reform processes in VET in Chile, to share expertise and to carry out joint projects. Furthermore, both partners are also aiming for an exchange of scientists.

At the beginning of the cooperation, the mining sector was the central sector in the reform of the Chilean VET system and thus also in the cooperation activities.

Chile has developed the National Strategy for Technical Vocational Education and Training 2018-2030 ("Estrategia Nacional de Formación Técnico Profesional 2018 - 2030"). This defines the goals and priorities of Chilean VET and highlights cooperation between the state and business stakeholders as one of the greatest challenges.

BIBB has carried out workshops and seminars on the development of training regulations and on permeability in the VET system. In addition, study visits by high-ranking delegations from Chile to Germany took place in order to inform Chilean VET stakeholders about the goals, actors and elements of German dual VET.

Alliance for Dual Training in Latin America and the Caribbean

The Dual Chile Foundation (Fundación Chile Dual) is a member of the Alliance for Dual Training in Latin America and the Caribbean, which was founded in June 2021 by 15 Latin American countries with support of BIBB, ILO-Cinterfor and Mexico's CONALEP.  The Dual Chile Foundation is an educational foundation. It aims to connect companies and VET institutions in Chile and to contribute to the improvement of Chilean VET.
