Cooperation with Latvian partner institution

The Latvian Vocational Education and Training Centre (Professionalas izglitibas Centrs, PIC) is subordinate to the Ministry of Education and Science.

The PIC and the BIBB signed a co-operation agreement in March 2006. It provides for close co-operation regarding research and development in the field of vocational education and training. The joint objective is to promote vocational education and training research by way of mutual support, co-operation projects and the exchange of information. Both partners have committed to

• inform each other regarding their research programmes and results and to make pertinent publications available to the respective other party,
• to carry out research and development projects focusing on shared key areas of activity,
• to send each other periodical publications and to
• aspire to the exchange of scientists.

The PIC has merged with the National Centre for Education (NCE). The co-operation continues with the NCE.
